The Ministry of Commerce announced that starting from July 21, 2024, anti-dumping duties will be imposed on imports of propionic acid originating in the United States for a period of 5 years. On July 21, 2023, the Ministry of Commerce issued an announcement, deciding to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imported propionic acid originating in the United States. On April 19, 2024, the Ministry of Commerce issued a preliminary ruling announcement, which preliminarily determined that the product under investigation was dumped, the domestic propionic acid industry was materially damaged, and there was a causal relationship between dumping and material damage. After continuing the investigation, the Ministry of Commerce finally determined that there was dumping of the products under investigation, the domestic propionic acid industry suffered substantial damage, and there was a causal relationship between dumping and material damage. The anti-dumping duty rate imposed on all U.S. companies is 43.5 percent.
