INVIDA to restart hexamethylene diamine plant in Canada

Invitica, one of the world's largest integrated producers of chemical intermediates, polymers and fibers, announced plans to invest approximately C $23 million (US $17 million) to reactivate its hexamethylene diamine (HMD) assets at its Maitland plant in Ontario, Canada. Hexanediamine is a key ingredient in the production of nylon 6,6, a high-performance polymer that can be used in a variety of applications such as automotive, industrial, apparel and consumer products. "We are proud of our 71-year history of operating in Maitland communities. As we celebrate the past, we look forward to continuing to invest and innovate in our efforts to improve our competitiveness in the future," said Matt Murton, Invitica Canada's Maitland Plant Manager in Ontario." After approval by the regulatory authorities, the project can start construction, and the hexamethylenediamine plant will be put into operation in the first quarter of 2025.
